Don Basilio (bass-baritone Frank Ward, Jr.) gleefully plots a way to slander Count Almaviva’s name, as Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt) listens in alarm.

Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt) delights Rosina (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin) with news about her secret admirer.

Mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin (Rosina) demonstrates additional skills besides singing and acting.

Rosina (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin) does not yet recognize her love, Count Almaviva (tenor Charles Blandy), who is disguised as a soldier trying to befriend her guardian, Doctor Bartolo (bass-baritone T. Steven Smith).

Count Almaviva (tenor Charles Blandy), disguised as a soldier, tries to distract Doctor Bartolo (bass-baritone T. Steven Smith, in plaid) and Don Basilio (bass-baritone Frank Ward, Jr., in trench coat) so that he can give Rosina (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin) a love letter. Doctor Bartolo’s barber, Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt), assists with the ruse.

Count Almaviva (tenor Charles Blandy), disguised as a voice teacher, and his “student” Rosina (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin) share a brief happy moment together.

Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt) tries to convince Don Basilio (bass-baritone Frank Ward, Jr.) that he is ill so that he does not ruin Rosina’s (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin) attempt to escape Doctor Bartolo’s house.

Rosina (mezzo-soprano Nicole Rodin), Doctor Bartolo (bass-baritone T. Steven Smith), Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt), and Count Almaviva (tenor Charles Blandy) share the same tune but have different worries in this ensemble piece.

The barber of Seville, Figaro (baritone Gregory Gerbrandt), distracts his patron, Doctor Bartolo (bass-baritone T. Steven Smith) with a shave.
