Funding for Teachers for Opera Field Trips

Teachers, let someone else pick up the tab for your students’ trip to the opera! Here are some sources of funding for field trips that we have found. Do you know of others? Please email jgreen@blo.org and share the wealth!

	PASS Grants The Massachusetts Cultural Council will help you pay for admission. Watch the deadline, though! This one is usually in mid-October.
	Target Corporation Community Grants Local Target stores are allocated money by the Target Corporation to fund projects in their neighborhood. From September 2 to November 1, 2008 they will be taking applications for grants to cover the cost of field trips (including transportation!). Don’t miss this!
	Big Yellow School Bus Big Yellow School Bus, a partnership between the Bank of America Charitable Foundation and the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), is a new grant program to help schools meet the costs of providing educational field trips to cultural institutions and events across the Commonwealth for their students.
	DonorsChoose New to Massachusetts, DonorsChoose.org allows teachers and classroom specialists to request funding from the public for their project. Reach out and see who responds!
