Opera Night at the BPL - FREE!

Attend a free one-hour talk by a local scholar in Rabb Auditorium at Boston Public Library in Copley Square. These informative talks offer unique perspectives on the season's operas, and feature musical performances.

At our last event, held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in preparation for the opening of Don Giovanni, Boston Lyric Opera and the Boston Public Library welcomed Thomas F. Connolly, Associate Professor of English at Suffolk University, who explored the character and the legend of Don Juan who was the inspiration for Don Giovanni. The audience discussed which lover cut a wider swath of seduction, and whether there really was a Don Juan!
