In December 2007, BLO hosted a private shopping event with christina defalco, the fabulous designer of BLO's specialty t-shirts. Friends of Boston Lyric Opera received a 20% discount on all merchandise purchased at the party. 5% of all sales were donated to Boston Lyric Opera.
About christina defalco
Christina DeFalco designs the specialty t-shirts featuring Boston Lyric Opera's season artwork that are sold in the Shubert Theatre lobby boutique. Her store is located at 383 Hanover Street: christina defalco is a boutique shop that showcases her hip, contemporary clothing collection. The store, originally the Langone Funeral home, and historically significant site of the Sacco Vanzetti funeral, is a stunning restoration of the original space. The Italian ceramic tile entry way, cherry wood inlaid floors, and exposed brick walls with minimalist brick shelving serve as the perfect showcase for the perfectly fitted and very feminine collection of dresses, pants, colorful rain jackets and "Friday night" tops of Christina DeFalco. In addition to designing, Christina travels to Italy to bring over the latest in costume jewelry and accessories to complement the collection. Her entire collection is proudly produced in the City of Boston.
